Winter Cycling sessions

Want to continue cycling over the winter but need a bit of support? Then join Cycling with Anne on a winter cycling session designed to give you the confidence to get out on your bike all year round.

Cycling With Anne and HiTrans are pleased to announce that we are running some Winter Cycling events on Orkney aimed at supporting people keen to keep cycling in winter. The sessions will run with a small group of up to six people throughout the winter and details of new sessions will be added as they are scheduled.

The sessions are aimed at people who use their bike to access services in their local area (rather than longer distance leisure cyclists). The sessions will start off-road and then we will go for a short cycle ride around the town to gain confidence with what we have learnt. Some freebies to support winter cycling will also be available!

Dates:

  • Monday 9 December, Stromness Academy: 6pm to 8pm
  • Monday 16th December Kirkwall Grammar School: 4.30pm to 6.30pm

For these sessions you will need your own bike – so please check that it is in good working order and that you have suitable lights for your bike. Get in touch if you need advice on this.

You can read more about the sessions or book via this Google Form.
